No to EU campaign riven by infighting

If this continues it will be a walkover for the Yes campaign. Farage is fomenting discontent and division as he has done in UKIP these last 20 years. Mathew Elliot who claims to run the Business for Britain campaign and demands he be chief executive of any joint campaign is from his history loooks like a Tory mole. Then there is Arron Banks who seems to head up the Know.eu campaign, was a big Tory donor and then started donating to UKIP. He seems to operate an insurance related business.

Finally and most worringly is the involvement of  US based right wing organisation Breitbart who supplied Raheem Kassam to run the disastrous  Farage South East Thannet General Election campaign upsetting O'Flynn, Evans etc. I presume he was Farage's latest of many efforts to 'professionalise' the cult UKIP which masquerades as a political party. Mr Kassam now seems to have retreated back to Breitbart and confirms what anyone involved with UKIP already knows, Farage is a poor judge of people, Kassam comes after Bannerman, Andreasen etc as Farage proteges parchuted into UKIP only to disappear back to where they came from.

It is abudantly clear that if Farage or his cronies or Elliot's Tory chums are anywhere visible in the No campaign it is bound to fail as Farage's numerous attempts to become an MP failed. I do hope Mr Bank's life and business interests will stand public scrutiny if he is involved.

Personally I would prefer a Jeremy Corbin figure from the trade union movement who at least believe in what they say and have some idea of how ordinary people live.

Chilcott seeks to protect the establishment

It has been clear for a number of years that John Chilcot is seeking to clear and whitewash the British establishment over the Iraq war in a manner Sr Humphry Appelby would thoroughly approve. He is being paid £790 / day so has a little incentive to move to a rapid conclusion.

I looked up Chilcot in Wikepedia and here is what I found.

Re his part in the earlier Butler report:

He is described as "a mandarin with a safe pair of hands", though some doubt his forensic skill. International lawyer Philippe Sands is reported as saying "Having some familiarity with Sir John's questioning ... it is not immediately apparent that he will have the backbone to take on former government ministers."[5] Sands also commented specifically in The Observer, on Sir John’s questioning of attorney-general Peter Goldsmith during the Butler inquiry:
“He [Lord Goldsmith] gave evidence on 5 May 2004. The uncorrected transcript shows some members of the inquiry pressing him [Goldsmith] hard. By contrast, Sir John's spoonfed questions give every impression of being designed to elicit a response from the attorney general that would demonstrate the reasonableness of his actions and those of the government.”

So he was an obvious safe choice to do the full GB set up inquiry and whitewash the establishment.

Again from Wikepedia.

On 15 June 2009, the then British prime minister Gordon Brown announced that Chilcot would chair an inquiry into the Iraq War, despite his participation in the discredited secret Butler report. Opposition parties, campaigners and back bench members of the ruling Labour Party condemned the decision to hold the inquiry in secret and its highly restrictive terms of reference which would not, for example, permit any blame to be apportioned.[7] In 2015, Chilcot was criticised as the Iraq Inquiry remained unpublished after six years.[8] Head of the UK civil service Sir Jeremy Heywood said the inquiry had repeatedly turned down offers of extra assistance to help speed up the report. Chilcot is paid £790 a day as head of the inquiry.

Sickening. the long suffereing families who lost sons and daughters in the war are not top of Chilcot's to do list. The establishment must be saved any embarassment  at all costs..

Lies, damned lies and immigration statistics

As the commentariat rightly says a lot of these immigrants are students. They then go on wrongly to say they pay fees into the UK. Only non-EU students pay their own way the EU ones rank pari passu with UK indigenous students by EU dictat so they get loans from the UK taxpayer which in my opinion will never be repaid to the UK. That's the way the money goes pop goes the weasel words.

So. question for the Education minister What percentage of student loans has been repaid by UK students and by EU students? I know the reply one would receive. Under EU rules it is forbidden to discriminate between the two groups so no figures are kept. If you don't keep relevant data you can never be embarassed, PPE politicians handbook   page one.

Legion d'honneur for the unarmed 3 Yanks and a Brit who disarmed Morrocan on train

It was the right thing to do and unlike the UK it was done promptly but it was a bit sick making to see sordid politician Hollande turning it into a photo opportunity, its almost enough to make me a monarchist but not quite. I hope they all washed their face sfter Hollande kissed them on the cheeks a bit like the Aussie in the Harveys ad forced to shake hands with Stuart Broad wipes his hands on his shorts to rub off the contact with  the nasty POM.

Two questions, where was the train guard(s) when all this was going on and the thought that had it happened in the UK our PC Plod would  have arrested the Brit for infringing the Morrocan's civil rights at some safe time after the incident.

US soldiers in civies disarm dangerous Moroccan on crowded French train

The incident took place near Arras. These presumably on leave unarmed soldiers showed huge courage in tackiling this heavily armed Moroccan. Their prompt  brave actions undoubtedly averted a heavy loss of life. One of these brave men was badly injured with a knife wound. It was good to hear that a UK citizen assisted in restraining the attacker.

Once again the French have benefitted from the bravery of US soldiers. Its time the Franco Prussian dominated EU recognised the huge contribution the US still makes to the security of Western Europe. Without US activism Putin would take over Eastern Europe and the EU would be shown as a paper tiger as Mao used to say or should it be paperclip tiger

Why May went to Calais

I wrote in my blog of 1st August that it was time for serious action so why did May not go sooner?

I answer it with a story from my Civil Service says. I was asked to look at a test procedure so as was my practice I asked to attend the next test. When I pitched up I found the head honcho was also there. I greeted him saying I expect you have seen lots of these and to my surprise he said No that this was the first one he had been to and that he was only there becuse he had heard I would be there and he did not want me knowing more than he did of this process.

That is the same reason May went to Calais. She was informed that Cazalette, the French Interior minister was going so the French shamed her into going. She clearly did not want to go as she might have had to face a Mrs Duffy situation. Politicians hate having to meet real people!

Calais will run and run until Winter makes it too cold for the migrants.

Great Lies of the Political Class

I am an MP/MEP to serve my country. Bollocks! They are there for the money and the truth is most are so talentless  they are unemployable elsewhere. I had this line from Farage at an NEC meeting to which I replied Bollocks. Farage is a prime example of a politician in it for the money, in his case EU money plus of course a very large EU pension. When I suggested at a UKIP NEC we should not take up MEP places Farage and his sycos went berserk attacking me. I know just how Jeremy Corbyn feels!

I came into politics to make things better. Bollocks. They came into politics to make things better for themselves. This particularly applies to Labour MPs who make a very fine living off the backs of the poor. Thus Corbyn's chum Diane Abbott could send her son to the fee paying City of London  boys school which would be financially out of reach for 95% of her constituents and the 5% left would not have voted for her but the Tory candidate.

Nobody has ever seen a poor MP or MEP. Ask why the next time you meet one of these hypocrits.

Corbyn can end the Spadocracy

If Corbyn can knock a hole in the Spad culture that dominates and corrupts our LibLabCon and now UKIP politics he will have done a great service to our country. I like and admire Corbyn as I liked and admired his mentor Wedgie Benn. I do not agree with their views but they have stuck to their principles over many years. They are in Benn's metaphor signpost not weathervane politicians. You know where you stand with them.

Better still they apply their public principles to their own lives.Corbyn claimed less expenses  than almost any other politician when the DT published the list of  MP's expenses claims over 5 years ago. He wanted to send his kids to the local comp his wife did not and they divorced with the wife getting custody and control of the kids as is inevitable in our famuly court system unless the wife has serious mental or drug problems. Wedgie Benn also sent his kids to the local comp, Holland Park in his case supported by his American wife. Not for them the do as I say not as I do of the LibLab political elite, Blair, Harman, Abbott etc times 100.

I see no difference between Burnham, Cooper, Kendal and Cameron Osborne etc. All Oxbridge Spads who have follwed the same political careerist route and avoided ever doing a proper job in business, education, law  or the military. They could switch sides with ease and fit as seamlessly into the Tory elite as they have done in the Labour elite They have no idea how ordinary people in this country think and live. The Tories are not as hypocritical as Labour who stand for privelege etc. Kendal even went to a selective Grammar school as did Mr Cooper Balls. They have forged fine careers and grown rich on the backs of the poor. They do not serve the poor they are in it to enrich themselves.

There are good guys in Labour who have done proper jobs and understand ordinary people and would be great leaders, Alan 'postie' Johnson from a working class background who is universally liked and admired. Dan Jarvis 14 years in the army from an ordinary school and Aberystwyth university then mainly in the Paras with service in Afghan and Iraq. Frank Field ex FE teacher, Kate Hoey, Gisela Stuart, none Oxbridge none former Spads but all in the best traditions of the Labour.

Johnson and Jarvis were asked to stand as leader. Both declined. Either would have scared the living daylights out of theTories. Instead we have three political careerists who will do and say anything to be leader and if elected would be indistinguisable from Cameron & Osborne in policies and principles. There is one decent honest bloke, Corbyn. He speaks clear English and avoids meaningless cliches like "hard working families" so beloved of Balls Cooper. Becauuse of that his obvious sincerity comes across to ordinary people. I hope he gets voted in.

Russia EU war in Ukraine gets closer

Our esteemed Foreign Secretary Fallon has finally twigged this war is now a distinct possibility.
Its in today's Tory Telegrah so it must be true. Click below to read

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/defence/11795563/Michael-Fallon-warns-Ukraine-war-remains-red-hot-as-he-pledges-more-British-military-help.html

I have been flagging this up for over 6 months now but is something the EU loving FCO does not want to hear. Over 7000 have been kiled in Ukraine so far and worryingly ther are now 75 UK soldiers there to help train the Ukrainian army. That's excactly how the US got started in Vietnam a disastrous conflict leading to a US defeat with tens of thousands of US soldiers killed.

Note how Fallon describes it as a likely conflict as between NATO and Russia. It gives the lie to the EU claims to have kept the peace in Europe. The EU has like Tony Blair proved expert at starting wars not keeping the peace.

It reminds me a bit of Kipling's poem Tommy Atkins:

I WENT into a public 'ouse to get a pint o' beer,
The publican 'e up an' sez, " We serve no red-coats here."
The girls be'ind the bar they laughed an' giggled fit to die,
I outs into the street again an' to myself sez I:
O it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' " Tommy, go away " ;
But it's " Thank you, Mister Atkins," when the band begins to play
The band begins to play, my boys, the band begins to play,
O it's " Thank you, Mister Atkins," when the band begins to play.

When the shooting starts the EU colleagues will be nowhere to be seen and the British squaddies will do the dying and our useless political elite will shed crocodile tears as the body bags come home. It would be better if we left the EU now. That would save our young men's lives and all our money.

Nice to see the EU Phile BBC remaking Tolstoy's War & Peace set in the midst of that great previous defeat of the French by the Russians leading to the downfall of Napoleon. Its a pity Juncker the spirtual heir to Napper won't suffer a similar fate.

Watch what EU phile business men do with their own dosh

There is no better example than Branson who is never off the EU phile BBC telling us what a disaster it would be for us to vote to leave the EU. He of course is speaking for his own selfish reasons. As the cartoon below shows he keeps his money safe from the EU's grabbing paws in Switzerland. He also of course has his own island, Necker , in the West Indies his very own Treasure Island where like Captain Flint he can bury his excess gold.

Embedded image permalink

And Branson's not the only one. Ask Sorrell and the other big business BBC EU philes where they keep their own dosh, not in an EU jurisdiction I'll bet. Switzerland, Caymam Islands etc are favoured by big business EU philes.

When Australia started to lose the Ashes, the tipping point

I have been watching a lot, probably too much, of the Ashes cricket and hence been subjected to lots of "expert" analysis and comment from lots of ex-England captains, Ricky Ponting and Shane Warne. These guys obviousl know very much more about cricket than I will ever do but I do think they missed the tipping point. That came on day one, England were 43 for 3 before lunch, Bell was just out and Root had just come in.and was dropped by Oz wicket keeper Brad Haddin before he scored. He went on to get 134 runs and England won by 169 runs. All wicket keepers drop catches but my point is the reaction it produced in the England side and the Oz selectors.

It gave Root who previously had been edgy against Australia the confidence boost he needed. He then went on to make a nice 60 in the second innings and England went on to win the Test by 169 runs with Root named man of the match. That's cricket as they say. But it also gave England the confidence to know they could beat the Australians and Root the confidence to play his excellent shots

Haddin could not play the second test because his child was ill and his deputy Phil Nevill  did well and Haddin who had scored 22 and 7  did not get his place back. It was wrong not  to reinstate Haddin for the 3rd Test  on Oz policy grounds ie family comes first, as pointed out by Warne and Ponting but in my view also on cricketing grounds, Haddin was very experienced in playing on green English pitches that Cook and Bayliss had requested. Many of the other Oz batters like Smith lacked this experience. I saw Haddin in Australia during the last England tour hold the tail together and dig the Aussies out of some big holes with the real grit the Aussie batters seemed to lack in Tests 3 & 4.

I do not criticise Phil Nevill but I do criticise the Oz selectors. When you are short on experience pick experienced players. The Oz selectors then compounded their mistake by dropping their no 6 Shane Watson for getting out lbw too often, 30, 19, 0w in the frirst Test.  Watson is an experienced batter and bowler in English conditions.   Again his replacement M Marsh did well in the second Test but not so well in Test 3 and was replaced disastrously by the non bowling S Marsh for Test 4. This left Clarke a bowler short something he was rightly unhappy about!

So Haddin's drop was the first crack in the Aussies but the Oz selectors turned it into the tipping point by a series of bad selections.. Clarke has resigned and the Oz selectors should do likewise. If he agrees they should let Clarke pick the team he wants for his final Test at the Oval. They owe him that at least. My inclination would be to reinstate Haddin and Watson but like I said I know nothing about cricket but I do know people and the importance of confidence..

BoJo makes positive case for EU exit

We have to make this positive case to leave the EU or we will lose Dave's rigged referendum and be condemned to EU rule for the next 50 years.

My problem with BoJo is that he is running a bad second to Gideon in the succeed Cameron race and I question whether hereally wants to get us out of the EU Anway its all in Guido click below to read

http://order-order.com/#:Xa8r0T-52nO5uA

I have no doubt the City of London would flourish out of the EU. Its a no brainer given the whole thrust of EU finance policy has been to rip the business out of London and relocate it to Frankfurt and Paris.

Its a case that is currently going by default so even if BoJo has selfish motives its better than nothing which is currently the case.

Lynton Crosby on Farage's EUKIP from Guido

“I don’t think they’ve got a long-term future. You should never write anyone off but they will be a voice of discontent. They are very reliant on the performance of their leader Nigel Farage and even he couldn’t win a seat. Sixth or seventh time he’s tried to win a Westminster seat. I think he might be better coming to Australia and doing talkback radio than trying to run another seat in the UK.”

A very informative interview by Lynton Crosby on Guido

Very analytic, very precise but only what I and many others kicked out of UKIP have been saying for years about Farage's UKIP cult

Always ask the stupid questions of our political and media elite

At Newport Rhode Island there are many yachts. A non Ivy league American was shown these by a shyster who said these are the broker's yachts. The hay seed  then asked the 'dumb' question, "Where are the speculators yachts? " There were of course no such things as the brokers had all the speculators  money.

Richard North writes a blog today on a similar theme concerning the prestigous media business and political elite pointing out the opinions of these groups are worth less than Joe Public's but they are widely reported by the BBC as solid truth. They are nothing of the kind.

http://www.eureferendum.com/

He quotes Gustave le Bon who pointed out,

"the special characteristic of prestige is to prevent us seeing things as they are and to entirely paralyse our judgement. Crowds always, and individuals as a rule, stand in need of ready-made opinions on all subjects. The popularity of these opinions is independent of the measure of truth or error they contain, and is solely regulated by their prestige. "

Exactly!

Branson, Clarke etc come out with pure self serving drivel. Ask Branson Clarke how much their companies' make out of the EU. Ask university vice chancellors how much their institution gets from the EU. You will probaly not be told but if you don't ask you have no chance of finding out.

Then of course there is our wonderful EU phile media headed up by the Beeb, the finest jounalistic organisation in the world. How do I know this? Well the BBC never tire of telling us 24/7 how wonderful they are. What they don't tell us is how grossly overpaid and incompetent they are.

Ditto with our wonderful Royal family. Don't mention  Betty von Battenburg's three SS brothers in law!

Us outers are going to have a hard strugle to convince the populace they are being screwed.

Why Farage cannot play a leading role in the Out campaign

To win this referendum we must attract votes from the Left and Centre as well as the Right. Farage only gets votes from the UKIP faithful, his paid lackeys and when he represents a protest vote. That is why despite standing seven times in MP elections and spending a huge amount of UKIP's money on his campaigns the electorate have always chosen someone else. Farage only came second once!

The British electorate simply don't like him or see him as their MP. On the other hand BoJo, who also like Farage cultivates the anti-establishment image has been elected as an MP for two different constituencies and also of course as London mayor. People like BoJo, they don't like Farage and its as simple as that as NF likes to say. Diane James came close to becoming an MP because people liked her and found her the lady next door we would all like to have. Charlie Kennedy despite being an alcoholic was voted in several times with his cheeky chappy HIGNY image. So its not this image that stops Farage getting elected its simply he does not come across as a nice man and that is never going to change.

Farage is not a team player and if he is not leader spends all his time plotting against whoever is leader. Ask Roger Knapman. When Farage became leader his energies were then devoted to removing all possible rivals real or imaginary. He does not appeal to the over 50% of the electorate that are women. In short he is an unelectable egotist.

So whither UKIP? Douglas Carswell is clearly their best bet as UKIP representative on the Out campaign which as I opined recently should have a collegiate leadership group of less than five. Carswell is widely liked. He is able and is a team player. He is there for our cause and can attract wide support across the political spectrum and from both men and women. The sooner Farage steps down and Carswell is voted in as leader the sooner we will see a good Out campaign come together.

Calais - time for serious action

It is by now abundantly clear that Dave's EU colleagues particularly Hollande have no wish or appetite to stop the flood of illegal migrants sitting in their Jungle camp, fed by misguded French charities waiting to enter the UK illegally. So much for the EU colleagues tackling real problems other than straight bananas etc. I get sick of the hot air and bullshit we are getting from our political elite, church leaders etc. None have put forward a single positive practical proposal. Its time to up the ante and put real financial pressure on the do nothing French authorities. Farage seems to want to start another European conflict by deploying UK troops in France. Every time Farage opens his mouth now he confirms what a shallow rabble rousing clown he is.

The political class are fixated on Dover to Calais but there are many alternatives and the way to break up this migrant stranglehold at Calais is to use alternative routes. Its simple. The prospect of all that cross channel trade leaving Calais.even temporarily would do wonders to concentrate the Mayor of Calais's mind. The trade might never return!

Other French ports include Dunkirk where our grandfathers were evacuated from, Dieppe & Boulogne.  In Belgium  Ostend used by Wellington in 1815 to communicate with London avoiding France, Also Zeebruuge  which now has sailings to Hull avoiding the souh East of England altogether  and the huge port of Antwerp. Then there is Holland with Rotterdam, the biggest port in the world by volume of traffic, Hook of Holland, Flushing, Europort etc  wonder how much solidarity the Benelux  dockers would show doing the trade re-routed from Calais? It would be good to know  so it can be incorporated into Dave's sham EU negotiations

The way to concentrate the EU colleagues minds is through their pockets. We have a huge trade deficit in physical goods with the EU let us restrict it. Sure it will hurt UK firms and workers but Dave has to show a little ingenuity to subsidise our firms for their and not the French. When the French dockers realise what is happening Hollande will get it in the neck! The Brits won't be there.

Lorries and ships are mobile, dock facilies are not but ports have always competed with each other for trade and that's what the EU is supposed to stand for!

Now what about the Eurotunnel? Simples load at Lille and don't stop at Calais.Only discharge going South  at Calais. Ah but the migrants will just trek to Lille say the  BBC bleeding hearts. Let them and use the breathing space to build proper defensive walls at the Calais rail terminal. Then switch back to Calais and keep on switching at random. Lorries move faster than migrants!

Then get smart, switch ports and do not give the migrants and the media for that matter a fixed target. If you have a huge edge in mobility use that asset as Napoleon did in his successful battles!

This is not going to be easy but it is workable with good management. Its time the Rolls Royce minds of the FCO did something to help the UK. It might transfer more trade up North in the UK and achieve far more than Gideon's fantasies about his Northern Powerhouse. Best of all it will flush out the inadequacies of the EU and those UK quislings in their pay.

Ships and lorries are mobile! Use that ability to outwith these economic migrants. Genuine asylum seekers should apply to the British embassy in Paris, Rome or wherever they are.. No UK or migrant blood spilt but the French bank account takes the hit.
